Our Fourth Donation: Tierheim Bochum

We're thrilled to announce that our fourth donation through Bestia Cares is to Tierheim Bochum, an animal shelter located in Bochum, Germany. Unlike many shelters, Tierheim Bochum is not operated by the city: instead, it is managed by the Tierschutzverein Bochum, Hattingen & Umgebung e.V., a privately funded and non-profit organization.

 

A Labor of Love

The funding for Tierheim Bochum relies primarily on donations, memberships, sponsorships, and contributions from private donors. While the shelter works closely with the cities of Bochum and Hattingen and receives a subsidy for certain municipal tasks, the majority of its operations are carried out by volunteers.
