At Bestia Dog Gear, our dedication to making a difference in the lives of dogs everywhere is unwavering. From our humble beginnings to our latest endeavors, our passion for our four-legged friends continues to drive us forward.
The Journey Continues: Our Second Donation
We're thrilled to announce that our second donation through Bestia Cares is to Tierheim Düsseldorf - Hundevermittlung, an animal protection association located in Düsseldorf, Germany. Established after the end of the Second World War in 1873 under the name Fauna, this organization has been tirelessly working to provide a safe haven for animals in need.
For many years, Tierheim Düsseldorf operated without a dedicated facility to house animals. However, thanks to the generosity of the city of Düsseldorf, they were provided with a site on Rüdigerstrasse to build an animal shelter. Today, this shelter serves as a home for a wide variety of animals, including an average of 90 dogs awaiting their forever homes.
A Sanctuary for Dogs in Need
Originally housed in old barracks on straw, the dogs at Tierheim Düsseldorf now enjoy spacious indoor and outdoor kennels. Bright, friendly, and equipped with underfloor heating, these kennels provide a comfortable and safe environment for the dogs to thrive. The construction of the four dog houses and the associated food kitchen between 2008 and 2011 further enhanced the facilities, ensuring that every dog receives the care and attention they deserve.
Working Together for Animal Welfare
At Tierheim Düsseldorf, a dedicated team of almost 40 animal keepers, three veterinarians, two veterinary assistants, and a dog trainer work tirelessly to care for the animals in their care. Their commitment to animal welfare is evident in everything they do, and we're honored to support their efforts through our donation.
